About Local Events

The World Series of Board Gaming is an exciting annual event held in Las Vegas that focuses on competitive play.  We are partnering with a growing network of regional, national and international conventions, as well as many of your favorite local game stores, to bring our amazing brand of competitive board gaming closer to you!

These events offer a variety of benefits to anyone interested in improving their gameplay or simply spending more time in the hobby.  By attending one of these events, you might earn free or discounted WSBG entry, first round byes, promotional merchandise, and invaluable experience; all while supporting your local gaming community.

Below is an explanation of the different types of local events that we currently offer, and a calendar of upcoming events and partner locations.  The WSBG would like to officially invite you to attend as many of these events as your schedule allows.

Game Store Competitions - Qualifer Events -
Satellite Tournaments

FLGS Competitions – By far the most convenient way to see what playing in the WSBG is all about, these are designed and customized to best fit your local player base.  Players who find themselves consistently winning in their local community could very possibly have what it takes to become the next WSBG Champion.  We are thrilled to work with local store owners to provide prize support, such as free or discounted WSBG tickets, for these events.  If you would like to see one of these events at your FLGS, please encourage ownership to contact WSBG.

Qualifier Events – Typically found within existing board gaming conventions, these events are designed for those who are thinking about attending the WSBG, but want a better idea of what a competitive board game tournament might look like.  Attending an official qualifier is a great way to learn more about the WSBG and possibly win free entry and a hotel stay at the next Las Vegas event

Satellite Tournaments – designed especially for competitive gamers who plan to compete in the WSBG Main Event.  Satellite tournament winners will be awarded a first round bye in the next corresponding WSBG Ring Event, which means you are one step closer to being crowned as the WSBG Champion and winning over $50,000 in cash and prizes.

Stay and Play Ticket – BEST DEAL! – This package is limited to the first 300 people who purchase it! Once sold out there will be no more. In this package the ticket holder will receive entry into four (4) Ring Event Games of their choice (NOTE: only one ring event game can be played per day), plus get a **4-night 5-day stay at Horseshoe for only $549 (includes hotel taxes and resort fee). Also in this ticket is a five (5) day entry pass to all the WSBG side events taking place. Open Gaming, Access to the Board Game Library, Exhibitor Hall, ability to enter into Outer Ring Tournaments, Celebrity Raffle, Demo Area and more. This ticket also allows for the holder to buy up to one (3) *Guest Passes at 50% off so they can bring friends to enjoy the side events with them.

*Guests will be allowed to participate in all Side Events (Open Gaming, Game Library, Exhibitor Hall, Ceremonies, etc.) Guests are NOT permitted to participate in any of the 16 Ring Games, or ORG Games (Outer Ring Games).

**HOTEL NIGHTS – This highly discounted nightly rate is for a Standard room with 2 Queen Beds (King can be requested). Double occupancy included. There is addition charges of $30 per night per person for guests 3 and 4 if desired to have more than 2 in the room. Max number of guests in the room is 4. Ancillary charges to the room, if any, will be charge to the charge card you present when checking-in at the hotel. 

This Quadruple Ring Event Competitor ticket gives the ticket holder registration into four (4) of the 16 Ring Event games of their choice (note: only one Ring Event game can be played per day.) This ticket also includes a five (5) day entry pass to all the WSBG side events taking place.  Open Gaming, Access to the Board Game Library, Exhibitor Hall, ability to enter into Outer Ring Tournaments, Celebrity Raffle, Demo Area and more. This ticket also allows for the holder to buy up to one (3) *Guest Passes at 50% off so they can bring friends to enjoy the side events with them.

*Guests will be allowed to participate in all Side Events. Guests are NOT permitted to participate in any of the 16 Ring Games or ORG (Outer Ring Games).

This Double Ring Event Competitor ticket allows the ticket holder registration into two (2) of the 16 Ring Championship games of their choice (only one (1) Ring Event game can be player per day) and saves you $50 on the 2nd game registration. Also included in this ticket is a five (5) day entry pass to all the WSBG side events taking place.  Open Gaming, Access to the Board Game Library, Exhibitor Hall, ability to enter into Outer Ring Tournaments, Celebrity Raffle, Demo Area and more. This ticket also allows for the holder to buy up to one (2) *Guest Passes at 33% off so they can bring friends to enjoy the side events with them.

*Guests will be allowed to participate in all Side Events. Guests are NOT permitted to participate in any of the 16 Ring Games or ORG (Outer Ring Games).

This Single Ring Event Competitor ticket gives the ticket holder registration into one (1) of the 16 Ring Championship games of their choice plus; a five (5) day entry pass to all the WSBG side events taking place at the event in Las Vegas. Side events include: Open Gaming, Access to the Board Game Library, Exhibitor Hall, ability to enter into Outer Ring Tournaments, Celebrity Raffle, Demo Area and more. This ticket also allows for the holder to buy up to one (1) *Guest Pass so they can bring a friend to enjoy the side events with them.

*Guests will be allowed to participate in all Side Events. Guests are NOT permitted to participate in any of the 16 Ring Games or ORG (Outer Ring Games).
