The World Series of Board Gaming and Prezcon are proud to join forces to sponsor this new annual Satellite Event. It will be a true journey and one massive stepping stone into this year's WSBG Main Event at the Horseshoe Hotel in Las Vegas.
All 16 WSBG Ring Tournaments will be represented. Each day you will be able to play in 3 rounds of one of four games. The winner of each of the 16 tournaments will receive a FIRST ROUND BYE in its corresponding Ring Event at WSBG 2025 in Las Vegas PLUS some WSBG Credit Chips to use at the Main event.
The World Series of Board Gaming strives to become the premier board game tournament in the world. Prezcon has been one of the best board game conventions in the United States for more than 30 years, and will host over 100 board game tournaments from February 17-23, 2025. Holding this much-requested satellite tournament as a precursor to Prezcon is a natural fit to the WSBG.
Each tournament will be capped at 16 players and will consist of 3 rounds. The winning score will be compiled using a modified Swiss point system, with head-to-head matchups serving as the first tiebreaker. With only 16 seats available for each tournament at $25 a seat, please do not wait to reserve your spot. – Open Gaming with 24 hour access to Prezcon’s game library for all attendees; you can get some practice in or just have fun and relax with friends.
– Competitors seeking an edge at WSBG ‘25 can play their way one step closer to the Grand Prize of $25,000
– A great way to train, as each game’s rules and procedures will be identical to those you will be playing at the 2025 World Series of Board Gaming.
– The same professional GMs that oversee the Ring Tournaments at the WSBG.
– This satellite event will complement Prezcon, and will come to completion before Prezcon tournaments begin on Monday morning.

For over 30 years Prezcon has called the Charlottesville, VA DoubleTree Hotel and Event Center home. Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachain Mountains the location offers much in history and sightseeing.
Each year Prezcon is contracted for “Run of the House” and the DoubleTree becomes filled with hundreds of Board Gamers enjoying a week of family fun centered around Board Gaming and 24 X 7 friends and family.
As WSBG continues to expand our operations we felt that Prezcon would be a perfect host as their location, venue and and event hall accommodations work perfectly for an east coast satellite tournament.
The hotel overlooks the Rivanna River, five miles from UVA and historic sites in downtown Charlottesville. More than 20,000 sq. feet of conference space with two ballrooms, and only 10 minutes from Charlottesville airport and less than an hour from Richmond airport. They offer a fitness center and indoor pool.
As host, Prezcon has offered us a portion of their discounted hotel room block so all attendees can enjoy their great rates. Reserve your room early as the hotel is know for filling up during the Prezcon convention.
